Power surges occur when something disrupts the electrical flow and the voltage spikes. High-energy appliances and lighting are two common causes of power surges that can affect your valuables. For example, a surge can shorten the lifespan of your electronic appliances or devices, and in the worst-case scenario, a surge can cause a fire. Installing a whole-house surge suppressor can prevent surges from affecting your home.
We carry a variety of surge protectors that include the following benefits:
Our team at Mister Sparky® provides convenient whole-house surge protection. We install point-of-use surge protectors to ensure that your appliances won’t be affected. Although some power strips have basic surge protection built-in, they aren’t enough to protect your home because plugs don’t protect your appliances the way a surge protector does. Our team of electricians is licensed, trained, and prepared to handle any electrical project, no matter how big or small.

Did you know? The 2020 National Electric Code (NEC) has made surge protection required in many states for service replacement and upgrades, and most states are now requiring homeowners to install a Type 1 surge protector?
To ensure the safety of both individuals and the electrical system, we strongly recommend having a licensed electrician handle the installation of a whole-house surge protector. Dealing with electrical systems carries inherent risks, including the potential for electrical shock. Trained professionals are equipped to navigate these hazards safely. The installation process can be complex when it involves hardwiring the unit into the electrical panel of your home. The complexity of this process requires knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations to ensure proper installation without compromising safety or functionality.
At Mister Sparky®, we leave your home safer than we found it. Our team always hunts down potential hazards and fixes them before they cause serious damage. We respect and value your time, so we guarantee on time arrivals to scheduled appointments: “We're On Time, You'll See, Or The Repair Is Free!”™ Our clients come back to us again and again because they know we put their needs first. We had to have some electrical work done by having can lights put in place in several rooms. William (Will and his associate) were very thorough and understanding for all our needs. I would however recommend that they have a QR Code card with the business as this makes for better business when they can slide the card under the smart cell phone and then the client/customer can write what there experience was like . Makes for better business.

We were in need of an electrician and a reliable one. Mr. Sparky (Kevin Samuels - Technician) was the guy. I called them as we were cancelled by "the other guys" as they could not manage their time with an appointment set days in advance. Mr. Sparky to the rescue, took my call at 6:30pm at night and booked it for the next morning. That morning we met the amazing Kevin Samuels. He conducted an electrical inspection that we needed, was detailed and thoughtful. Everything from the time to explain everything to wearing the red booties to cover his shoes when in the house. I am so happy that they were the ones to take care of what we needed. We did not feel pressured - however related the services of what we need to their offerings. Kevin, informational, thoughtful, even my dog Leia loved having him in the house. Kevin, thank you for all you did for us. Your service will keep us with Mr. Sparky for any of our electrical needs.

We contacted Mister Sparky to get a quote to install attic fan. The technician, James, came out to check out the attic and electrical box. James said since the house didn’t have a Gable, he presented another type of attic fan. He was very precessional, friendly & did excellent on explaining the process of the install, including pictures. We couldn’t be any more pleased with the entire process & cost of install. We highly recommend Mister Sparky & James who did the install. We would use this company again. Thank you for great experience from start to completion!!!!
