If you have a pool, or are looking to install one, there are some general things to know about the electrical system required to keep it running. However, since there are many different types of pools, some of this information will vary:

● Electrical requirements: Some pools require a 120V system that plugs in, meaning that you can simply plug them into a GFCI outlet (Usually these types of pools are the above ground kind). Other types of pools (like in ground ones) might require a 240V connection that needs to be hardwired. In which case you would most likely need a qualified electrician to install this for you.

● Cost of installment: While it is good to be cost effective, keep in mind you often get what you pay for. There are a lot of factors that can go into this cost such as warranty, quality of work, heating/lighting installation. So, price shouldn’t be an end all be all when it comes to choosing an electrician to install your system.

● Pool circuit: Some pools like larger above ground swimming pools might need their own circuit or it may trip the shared circuit while running.

As we know, electricity and water don’t mix, so it is a great idea you have a qualified electrician to install your electrical pool system.
