There are multiple levels of EV chargers that have different capabilities. Which one you end up installing depends on your electric vehicle and home. Before you do anything yourself, make sure to get assistance from expert electricians -- like us! -- to review your electrical system.

Level 1 Chargers

These chargers can be inserted into standard household plugs and provide 2-5 miles for every hour it is charged. Before you insert, verify the outlet is GFCI-protected to prevent electrical shocks.

Level 2 Chargers

For this charger, you will need to equip your home with a specialized 240v charger. These chargers can put in 10-60 miles every hour it is plugged in. To install these, you will need the help of an electrician since they involve heavier voltages.

Level 3 Chargers

These are able to charge your car's battery supply by more than half in about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, unless you have industrial supplies of power, you most likely will not be able to install this charger in your home.

Our electricians will decide your home’s ability to support a level 2 charger and choose the right charger for your car model. They will also take a look into your electrical system and make upgrades so that your home is up to the National Electrical Code and local codes.
