When enough electricity gathers in a single place, it is known as static electricity, while electricity that moves from one location to another is known as current electricity.

How Is Electricity Generated?

How Does Electricity Work in My Home?

Most of us don’t think twice about electricity when we plug in our smartphones or switch on a light switch. But how does electricity get to our homes and businesses once it has been made? Electricity enters your home through a power line cable into a meter. This meter is typically located in a meter box that also contains circuit breakers or fuses.

The circuit breakers divert the electricity along small wires, which run behind the walls of roof of your home. This forms separates circuits around your house so that electricity can be delivered to all of the different switches, outlets and other power points in your home.
