Mister Sparky® holds ourselves to the strictest standards, including compliance with all local and national codes dictated by the National Electrical Code (NEC). Our standards ensure our customers' homes are as safe and as reliable as possible, and also protects their investment: by complying with the NEC, our electricians make sure homeowners can sell their homes with minimal trouble.
For homeowners who are buying, selling, or considering a new home, electrical inspections are crucial to a.) understanding what you're getting into, and b.) ensuring a home is safe. Even newly-remodeled homes might have neglected electrical systems with aging components, outdated design, and other problems that range from inconvenient to dangerous.
It's also worth noting that older homes might not be up to the most recent codes, as the NEC is constantly improving and iterating. Even if a home is up to code, it may not be suited for the demanding power needs of the average family. With several laptops, smartphones, screens, and other devices for each family member, having reliable power everywhere in the house is vital—an inspection lets you know what you're working with.
Local jurisdictions and code enforcement boards inspect for compliance with the minimum standards, as set forth in code. The extensively trained and licensed technicians at Mister Sparky electrical comply with all local and state codes. Our techs are specifically trained to flag and take corrective action to keep your property and family safe.
Some electric code violation guidelines include:
To avoid critical overloading on receptacles where high wattage power devices like hair dryers could be in use, there must be at least one separate 20 amp. branch circuit.
Outdated wiring is one of the most common problems found in older homes. Fires can start when wires fray or when breaker boxes can’t handle the demands placed upon them. When these things occur, heat transfer to surrounding objects can cause them to smoke or ignite. Arcing is an even more dangerous possibility where the electrical current jumps across connections instead of moving through a circuit. This is essentially a form of lightning and the risk of fire or electric shock is very real. Ungrounded plugs and faulty outlets are also causes of home fires. The best way to stop fires and electrocution from happening is to have your home electric system inspected by a pro.
Protect your investment and avoid surprises by getting an electrical inspection for your new home or renovation. Mister Sparky provides comprehensive inspections to uncover hidden electrical risks. We can also help you determine how new appliances will affect your home if you are making upgrades. If you are adding a new water heater system, extra refrigerators, an outdoor oven, or more space heaters, these will all make heavy demands on your home’s wiring and breakers.
If you need to upgrade your box or add a new subpanel, we can advise you on next steps. If you are unsure about the state of your system, our team can tell you the exact condition of your home’s outlets, wiring, breakers, grounding, and insulation.
Inspections are quick and remarkably affordable. By making sure you have a thorough electrical inspection completed by a qualified Mister Sparky electrician before buying, selling, or remodeling a home, you can help ensure your home's electrical system operates at the highest level of safety possible. Our trained technicians can provide whole house rewiring and evaluation of your circuits to ensure compliance to code and the safe delivery of electrical current within your home.

The response time was excellent. Ryan was here within an hour to an hour and a half to assess our needs. He gave very good recommendations to bring our old house up to code. There was too much to do all at once. He was very patient in working through different options to get us started. We initially were just wanting to add a few new electrical outlets but knowing that our house is older, we opted to go ahead and do a new electrical box as well as the few new outlets. Kalob was here, once again within an hour to an hour and a half to install our new electrical box and outlets. Very professional very nice and we will definitely be using them again to finish updating our house.

He was friendly, professional and respectful. He did a great job and was thorough. I would give 5 stars but the pressure sales is always a no go for me. He did great at finding out what was wrong and get me scheduled to get the job completed.

Well I didn't get any service done because the price was ridiculously high, but they were in range of other electrician companies. I don't believe in overcharging people who clearly cannot afford it. You can tell by what they drive, where they live, & how expensive their house is. If they can afford nice things then they can pay these prices, but I think you should look at what I explained & give these people like a 40% reduction on labor in the estimate. Like if they show you that they are disabled, or on snap. They would have to provide proof. You know if someone is driving a 1998 truck, lives in a 800sf house, & have kids, or disabled probably don't have the money to spare unless you offer a 40% reduction on labor, but parts will have to remain the same then I bet you will get more jobs. You will get so many that it would be worth it. If they are renting yes charge the landlord the regular price. That is my opinion & I know you clearly will not see it as a possibility. Thank you p.s. the guy you sent here was the nicest person I have ever met. He was definitely customer oriented, since customer service is the lifeline of any good company that deals with the public on a daily routine.

Anthony your electrician professional was outstanding in service. You should be proud of having him on your team. Anthony gave me good advice on what he did. When I was out at his truck I noticed the truck was very clean and all his equipment was put in place. Anthony's uniform was clean and very nice, he had a nice smile. Thank you Anthony okay guess what we got it for we had a 15% discount to military we got it for a $101 and it's LED so I just put them there for right now before I can take them back so with that return $25 we had it done for $75 yep

Chris, our assigned electrician from Mister Sparky, didn't impress me at first meeting. He was an hour-and-a-half late. However, when he explained that he was delayed getting necessities from the warehouse, I understood. Upon arrival, when we extensively detailed the work to be done, he listened carefully, and took photos. He looked at several circuit breaker boxes (we have solar), traced circuits, and went to work. He mounted a surge suppressor on the power line leading to our A/C compressor outside. He changed out switches, crawled through the attic, expertly cut through our wall, and ran wires to permanently mount/custom install a wall lamp highlighting a painting. He replaced several GFIs (two inside, and two outside), and generally worked steadily, skipping lunch, and finishing shortly after 3 pm. We were relieved because we had scheduled appointments, and Chris also had a dentist appointment. We were able to keep our schedule; I hope Chris made his appointment on time. He was a quality worker: fast and professional. Plus, he didn't even complain as I assaulted his ears/sensibilities with my instrument practice session. (It evened out though, we have no kids or pets.) We will see him again tomorrow.
