Outlet Repair & Installation

If you’ve noticed that the electrical outlets in your home aren’t working as well as they use to, or they aren’t able to hold the plug, it may be time to repair or replace it. Having malfunctioning outlets can be a serious shock and fire hazard. If you notice that your outlets spark when you plug or unplug an appliance, it is a sign to install a new outlet. The standard household electrical outlet consists of two three-pronged, polarized receptacles. Each receptacle has a 120-volt ‘hot’ wire, a neutral wire and a ground. Since the code requires both ground or bound wire, it ensures both functional and safe delivery of power to your household.

GFCI Outlets

GFCI outlets are ground-fault circuit interrupters. These outlets contain test and reset buttons on them, and they are used to help prevent electric shocks. Codes require GFCIs in all homes, so older homes may need to update their outlets to GFCI outlets to keep their homes safe.

The electrical code requires you to have GFCI outlets installed in bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor areas because these areas often get wet. The GFCI outlets’ built-in feature ensures safety. For example, if you were to blow dry your hair and dropped the dryer in a sink filled with water, the GFCI outlet would shut off the circuit to prevent electric shock.

I can’t complain I lost power to my efficiency apartment on New Year’s Eve at night Mister sparky tech Frank Ramirez came out to look at the problem and of course my electricity was the original from when the home was built 1950. Frank Thoroughly explained the problems I was having. Frank, David and Jason took care of the problem. Keep in mind the reviews helped me to choose a Reliable company. Ant and Mark did an excellent job servicing my home today. They came out to give an estimate on my issue with no power to my water heater. They found that the water heater breaker was tripping and not resetting. I provided the breaker and they replaced that for me but they noticed in the laundry room was missing a bushing and the grounding wasn’t up to par along with a loose box. They did a great job of letting me know the issues and provided options for me. I will be recommending to family and friends the great work they completed for me. I now have hot water ; and now a happy customer!
